REVIEW – Mother Bucker by Elle Thorpe

BLURB

Getting pregnant then realising your baby daddy is a cheating, lying, scumbag? That happened.

But then Abel James walks into my life. One hot look from the broad-shouldered cowboy and I’m ready for all the sexy fun I won’t be having once I start showing.

Only one problem. He’s my father’s best friend and almost twenty years older than me.

He’s off limits. I’m completely forbidden. Even if the spark between us is undeniable.

So I get on a plane to Australia. One last trip to visit friends and work on their cattle station before I come home and face my future as a single mom.

But when I get on the plane, Abel is sitting next to me, running away for reasons of his own.

So now we have three months. Three months of sharing a bathroom. Three months of seeing each other every day, while trying to pretend there’s nothing between us but friendship.

Three months of falling in love with him, while keeping the biggest secret of my life.

Mother Bucker is a forced-proximity, father’s best friend, age gap romance. It has all the small-town cowboy vibes you love, with all the spice and a happily ever after. It can be read as a standalone.

“You taste like the best sort of sin, Callie.”

ARC REVIEW

I have been waiting for Callie and Abel’s story and it was worth the wait!

I adored both Callie and Abel. Callie is pregnant, but her family doesn’t know. It is something she is keeping to herself. She doesn’t feel like she is good enough to raise a child and she wants her child to have the best life possible. She doesn’t feel like she deserves a lot of things. Abel is divorced, he has been hurt in the past when it comes a relationship. Abel is so much more than expected, the man has many different sides to him and I loved seeing those sides come out. Despite their age difference and that he is her fathers best friend, Abel is perfect for Callie. It isn’t all smooth sailing for these two and there are some bumps along the way.

The chemistry between Callie and Abel from the start is off the charts. They are drawn to each other from the moment they meet, however, they don’t cross the line right away and it is filled with addictive tension. When the line is crossed….the spice, the passion, the heat. I was here for it all.

It is bittersweet that this is the end of this series, however, I hope there are still more cowboys in the future cause I love them.

If you’re looking for an age gap, cowboy, forced proximity, fathers best friend romance check this one out.
