College was supposed to be the start of something new … and boy, was it!

I saw my college experience in my head: studying for my dream job in one of the big 5 publishing houses, hanging out with my friends, being there for my sister and enjoying my new dorm room … but nothing would’ve prepared me for my new dorm neighbor.

Blue eyed, six foot pain in my butt!

You think I’m kidding? Ha!

Well let me tell you:

1. He plays his music too loud and turns it up when I try to study

2. He steals my favorite booth at the local diner

3. He purposefully chases away my dates
And what’s worse?

4. One drunken night of weakness leads me to getting knocked up by him.

Try having a baby with someone you hate, I dare you.

“You don’t see the way he looks at you when you’re not looking.”

“How’s that?”

“Like he doesn’t see anyone else.”

The moment I started reading I couldn’t stop. I was completely sucked into the story and devoured this book. It is a fantastic debut novel and a fantastic start to a series.

The moment Ava and Conner met in the dorms there was a connection between them. I loved the back and forth banter these two had. They continued to run into each other their freshman year and poked each other’s buttons. Ava didn’t expect to see Conner again, however, he is the roommate of one her best friends. While Ava was focused on school and getting her dream job, she also wasn’t afraid to have a little fun. However, one night that forever changed her life and now a permanent connection to the one person she can’t stand, Conner.

Conner first came across as kind of a jerk who just loved to mess with Ava, however, as the story progressed and you learn more about him. He has a sweet side and a protective side, even if he does make a few mistakes. I loved that he steps up and he is truly there for Ava. I enjoyed Ava, too. She was scared and worried, like anyone in her situation would be, but the amount of love and support she had from her friends and her sister, plus Conner was amazing. Despite the button pushing, there is some chemistry between Conner and Ava. I loved that they went from enemies to friend to lovers. I loved the growth of their relationship, even if it was a little bit of a slow burn.

Their group of friends was also amazing. I not only fell in love with Conner and Ava, but the secondary characters. They played a big role throughout the story and I loved the little makeshift family they have all become. I can’t wait for more of the series and to get more of all these characters in the future.

If you’re looking for an enemies to lovers, slow burn, accidental pregnancy romance this is one to check out.
