REVIEW – What Was Meant to Be by Q.B. Tyler

BLURB

From the author of Love Unexpected comes an all new age-gap forbidden romance.

Two years ago, Jacob Price walked away.
After a whirlwind steamy affair, my father’s best friend broke my heart.
He told me things were too complicated. Messy. Wrong.
That we could never be together.
I knew he loved me but the fear of ruining our family was too great.
With too much at stake, he sacrificed our hearts and ended it.

Now, he’s back and he still wants me.
He still loves me.

But now, I’m engaged to another man.

“I’m not losing you twice in a lifetime.”

ARC REVIEW

The angst, the spice, JP…this book was one I had a hard time putting down.

Whitney and Jacob have a complicated relationship. He his her parents best friend, her godfather, and someone who practically helped raise her. However, once she was eighteen and he hadn’t seen her for a year, she changed. Whitney has always had a crush on Jacob, what she didn’t expect was him to feel the same.

These two had a lot of ups and downs. I loved getting bits and pieces of their past mixed in with the present time. Their relationship is complicated on so many levels, but it was totally worth it in the end. The two of them have chemistry that is on a whole different level.

This is a story that probably won’t be for everyone but it was a great read from start to finish.

If you’re looking for an age gap, forbidden, second chance romance this is one to check out.
