REVIEW – The Love of My Next Life by Brit Benson

BLURB

I calmed his demons.
He created mine.

Macon Davis.
My best friend’s brother.
My tormentor.
My least favorite person.
Pothead. Delinquent.
A careless, directionless loser.

That’s what I used to believe,
but I didn’t really know him.
And when I finally saw him,
it was the best and worst thing to ever happen to me.

We burned hot and fast.
Passion. Anger. Love. Pain.
We were reckless. Naive.
We were doomed from the start.

When I finally saw Macon Davis for who he was,
we both went down in the flames.

***
The Love of My Next Life is part one of a duet.
It is just as much a love story as it is a tale of ruin.
While the duet will end in an HEA, book one does not.

She doesn’t run from my darkness. She puts her lips on mine and draws it out of me.

ARC REVIEW

This story…..it is one wild ride that grips your heart. Macon and Lennon’s relationship has a lot of different layers and I loved seeing all the layers slowly get pulled back and dive deeper into these two characters.

The chemistry between Macon and Lennon is there. They have a connection and it is a connection that is deep. These two may not seem like they would work together on paper, yet they do. They have sides to them that they keep hidden from others in their lives and those sides are things that they can share together.

Love isn’t easy, love is complicated and the love that Macon and Lennon have is something that is insanely complicated and heartbreaking at times, but it can also be absolutely epic.

But seriously, that ending…..I can’t wait to see where this story goes! I can’t wait to get more of these characters!

If you’re looking for an angsty, forbidden, enemies to lovers, best friends brother romance this is one to read.
