REVIEW – Shot Taker by Piper Lawson

BLURB

He leads the league in scoring. My heart won’t give him another shot.

I swore I’d never come back to Denver.

I’d never trust the wrong man again.

But here I am, back in the same place as the bad boy athlete who broke my heart.

Clay rules the basketball court, and now he’s gunning for redemption. But I’m not the same girl who fell for the man behind the all-star image and reputation.

He made me want him like I’ve never wanted anyone.

He made me feel like I was the only thing that mattered.

A single look can make me ache.

A whispered promise in his gruff voice makes my chest tight.

Clay’ll do anything to prove we’re worth another shot.

Shot Taker is a full-length grumpy sunshine sports romance and book 2 in the King of the Court series. Clay and Nova’s story begins in Game Changer and concludes in Play Maker.

Desire got the better of me last time. She’s giving me another chance, even if she wouldn’t call it that, and the hardest part will be winning her heart.

ARC REVIEW

Nova and Clay’s story picks up right where things left off in book one of this trilogy. There is a lot standing in their way, but will they have the ability to make it work?

I love these two so much. I love how Clay is when it comes to Nova and he’s willing to do anything to get back on her good side. I love Nova and how much she is growing as a character throughout these books. She’s really finding herself in this book. Of  course, these two have a long way to go and I’m sure there will be more twists and turns when it comes them and being together.

I can’t wait to see where things go for Clay and Nova after the bombshell of and ending in this book!

If you’re looking for a grumpy/sunshine, age gap, sports romance check this one out.
