REVIEW ➞ Someone Else’s Shadow by Monica James

BLURB

My name is Peyton Lane, and I have no idea who I am.

Six months ago, I woke from a coma with no recollection of anybody, anything.

My family tells me that I’m a good woman, that I’m loved. It seems I’ve lived a full, rewarding life, but I would give all of it up in a heartbeat to remember who I was.

My mind is a blank slate. Every moment in time wiped clean.

But there is one thing I can remember, something I haven’t dared to tell anyone about—a mysterious oak tree, a red ribbon, and a vision of drowning.

I know the answers I seek lie buried at the bottom of a lake. And that’s why I’m here in South Carolina. The memory I have is something I witnessed…

So I wonder what it would feel like to remember…remember who I was, but more importantly, remember what I did.

A kiss has the power to change the world…and I’ve just delivered one that’ll no doubt change us both.

ARC REVIEW

This book is addictive and captivating from the start. The suspense and mystery of it all had me hooked and I couldn’t put this story down.

It’s been six months since Peyton was involved in a horrible accident and lost all of her memory. She feels drawn to a lake house and a red ribbon on a tree, however, she has no idea why but she is determined to find that information out. She crosses paths with her new grumpy neighbor she feels a connection with him, too.

I loved the suspense, I love the romance, and I love the emotions that this story brought out. Peyton and Cayden’s connection was beautiful, emotional, and my heart just broke for the two of them. The connection they share is something else.

This is a story that you need to read for yourself and get lost in. It is completely worth the ride it takes you on.

If you’re looking for an emotional, second chance, romantic suspense this is one to check out.
