REVIEW ➞ Loving the Bratva by K.D. Clark

BLURB ➞

How did I fall in love with a man who was sent to kill me?

The last thing I expected when I walked into my shift was to be ambushed by a man that looks like he’s killed more people than I want to know about. He has stubbles across his square jawline. His eyes are dark, cold and empty. Like there’s no more softness left in him. Pure evil stares back at me. I’ve seen that sort of emptiness before. He has one demand of me; never come back. I’ve never been good at doing what I’m told. So here I am, poking a monster.

He’s scary looking, big as hell, but he saw I was upset last night, and he made my night better than I could have asked for.

ARC REVIEW ➞

Xavier is a hired killer and his target is Carmen. However, there is something about Carmen that draws him in. That keeps him coming back for more and wants to protect her.

Carmen wants to escape Detroit. She feels trapped there, but doesn’t really have a way out. I love that she does what she wants, despite what her brother wants or thinks, and really even her sister. Though, she does value her sisters opinion much more. She is also full of sass and is a strong woman. Xavier is an alpha male, he is strong and confident. There is also a protective and sweeter side to him that comes out the more time he spends with Carmen.

These characters have a ton of chemistry and I loved their relationship with each other. They really balance each other out and bring out different sides to each other.

If you’re looking for a dark, steamy, fast paced read this is one to read.
