REVIEW ➞ Last Resort by Amelia Wilde

BLURB

Emerson LeBlanc lost more than an acquisition. He lost the woman he loves.

There’s no redemption for a man with his past. No future for a relationship built on stalking and kidnapping. At least that’s what he believes. When he meets Daphne again, she’s not a piece of art. She’s a woman determined to paint a new path. For herself. For him. Except the ocean holds more than shadows. It holds danger that could ruin them both.

I know you’re not supposed to fall in love with a man who’s so obsessed he kidnaps you.

ARC REVIEW

Emerson and Daphne’s story has been interesting from the start. There have been a lot of ups and downs and I was curious to see how everything would end for the two of them. Especially, given the events that occurred in the second book.

I loved Emerson and Daphne’s unique relationship. The connection they have formed throughout the course of the series. The understanding that the two of them have for each other, too. Emerson is possessive, probably to the extreme at times, but there is also a lot more to him. Daphne calms the  storm in his mind.

This trilogy isn’t going to be for everyone, but I did enjoy these characters and their journey from the star. I loved that neither of these characters were perfect, they were broken and both struggling with different things.

If you’re looking for an enemies to lovers, romantic suspense, forbidden, dark romance this is one to read.
