REVIEW ➞ Inevitable by Jenna Hartley

BLURB ➞

When my dad asked me to intern for his best friend, I knew I should’ve said no.

I had my own plans for the summer.
Ones that didn’t include revisiting my childhood crush.

Sleeping with the boss?
Probably not what my dad had in mind when he asked for my help.

But from the moment I step foot in the office, I can think of little else.
I still want Jonathan.

Am I willing to gamble my relationship with my dad and my heart?

*Inevitable was previously featured in the I Have Lived and I Have Loved charity anthology. It was a 15,000 word story that has been expanded to 80,000+ words. Some details may have changed, but the feel of the story remains the same.

I will not be your dirty little secret. I will not be a mistake. I will not be nothing.

I fell in love with Sumner and Jonathan when their story was first released in the I have Lived and I Have loved charity anthology so I was super excited to find out that their story was coming back and being expended.

Sumner needed a change and headed back to her hometown and to be close to her family. Jonathan is a workaholic. He lives and breathes work. His best friend is worried about him, worried he doesn’t relax. His best friend is also Sumner’s father and suggests he offers her an internship.

Sumner has had a crush on Jonathan for years. However, she knew that he’d never see her as anything other than her fathers daughter. Jonathan hadn’t seen Sumner for years and the moment she walked into his office he saw her in a different light. There is tension and chemistry between the two of them from the start, but one business trip to New York changed everything.

Despite the 20 plus year age gap between the two of them they had a ton of chemistry, they balanced each other out, they worked well together. There were so many emotions involved and at times some frustration with the two of them. However, it is easy to fall in love with Sumner and Jonathan from the start.

If you’re looking for an age gap, work place romance this is one to read!
