REVIEW ➞ Hard to Hold by K. Bromberg

The contract with Major League Soccer was supposed to help repair my damaged reputation.

Then I discovered that I’d made a deal with the devil: the player I’m supposed to recruit is none other than the bad boy, star Premier League footballer, Rush McKenzie.

British. Tattooed. Sexy. A man currently at the center of a huge scandal.

The goal? To convince him to stay in the States.

But what’s wrong with a little fun in the meantime? No strings. No sweet nothings. Just a way to pass the time while we’re both struggling to prove our true selves to the world.

If someone found out our relationship was anything more than professional, it would only serve to prove all our critics right.

I never should have agreed to take the fall.

But I did and I’m a man of my word.

Even if it means risking everything I’ve worked for.

The only bright side is Lennox Kincade.

Gorgeous. Defiant. Rumor-tainted. Totally off-limits.

Sharing a house with the gorgeous sports agent should have been a fun distraction from the turmoil. Someone to help pass the time while the tensions back home die down.

But what started as nothing, ends up as something I never saw coming.

We’re told we’re bitches if we’re took aggressive, and then we’re told we’re feeble and weak-minded if we fall too quickly. Or better yet, we’re sluts if we crave the touch of man. If we want to and like to have sex. If we like to be made to feel good.

Lennox is a sports agent, she’s a woman who is good at what she does, however, given the male dominated industry they don’t treat her equally, they assume she uses her good looks to get what she wants, not because she is good at what she does and puts her clients first. Rush is a professional footballer, but he is also surrounded by scandal within his own team back in the UK. Escaping to the US he and Lennox are forced to work together and the chemistry between them slowly simmering below the surface.

I love Lennox. Yes, she runs from things in her life, she is restless at times, but she is amazing at what she does. She has a hard exterior just to deal with her job. The men in the industry that she has to work with are very anti-women in the industry, but she isn’t afraid to stand up to them and speak out about it. I love Rush, too. He seems like the bad boy who is a magnet for trouble and scandals, but as the story continued there is so much more to his character.

The chemistry between Lennox and Rush is fantastic and is just coming off the pages. There is tension, great banter and plenty of heat all throughout the story. But they are both also super supportive of each other and bring out a different side of each other that no one else would for them.

Hard to Hold is a must read sports romance that brings the heat and the emotions.
