REVIEW ➞ Forsaking All Others by Alexa Jordan

BLURB ➞

Once upon a time there was an innocent girl…and a ruthless crime lord sworn to protect her.

Helina has spent most of her life alone, hidden away from the world for her own protection, with her stepbrother Gregori her only company. A man who consumes her every thought, filling her with dark, forbidden desires. When he comes to her with promises of forever, she’s ready to give herself to him and his darkness.

Gregori knew the moment Helina turned eighteen, she’d be his ruin. The protection he once offered her from his father is now his obsession. Gregori wants to own every part of her, leaving no chance for any other man to claim her heart.

Even with monsters lurking in the shadows, nothing will keep him from claiming Helina as his.

His to protect.
His to control.
His to own.

“This isn’t a fairy tale, Helina. This is real life, and in real life, everyone doesn’t get a happy ending.”

ARC REVIEW ➞

Addictive and captivating from the start. Helina and Gregori’s story is one that you can easily get sucked into and lost in from the start.

I loved Gregori. He is protective and an alpha male. He will do anything to make sure Helina is safe and that she remains safe. He goes to great lengths to ensure that it happens. Helina may be sheltered but she knows what she wants and I liked the fact that she wasn’t a weak character. The connection between Gregori and Helina is unique, but they have such a strong bond and love for each other. The chemistry between them is heating up the pages.

The story is fast-paced and quickly spans multiple years, but none of the story felt rushed and it was needed as Helina grew up with each passing chapter.

If you’re looking for a dark, fairy tale retelling this is one to check out.
