REVIEW ➞ Fall of the Stars by Monica James

BLURB

England is bleeding.

And there isn’t a thing I can do about it.

I am once again a prisoner to Wessex, captured by King Egbert because holding me hostage will bring them to him—my two Vikings who will risk heaven and earth to save me.

But I don’t need saving.

I am Princess Emeline, and I was taught by the best, and his name…Skarth the Godless.

The man whom I love more than anything in this world.

But things begin to blur when Ulf the Bloody reminds me of the promise I made, and that promise is that I belong to him.

We must work together to overthrow King Egbert, but the war I fight within my heart is far more dangerous than anything I will ever face on the battlefield.

The choice is not simple because we all must make sacrifices. But I soon realize that all is not fair in love and war.

Lives will be lost.

Hearts will be broken.

And come dawn, life as we know it will be changed forevermore.

I am England’s worse fucking nightmare, and it’s time she pays for her sins.

ARC REVIEW

Fall of the Stars picks up where things left off in North of the Stars and from the starts there are twists, turns, and plenty of action.

Emeline is a BA! She is a warrior and can really take care of herself. She has been through a lot, but she used that to fight. She is fierce and loyal to those she can truly trust. I loved seeing how much she grew throughout the course of the first book and this book. She is a true Queen. Skarth and Ulf….I don’t even know if there are words to describe these two. They are strong, protective and, dangerous, but it is hard to not just want more of them.

This book and this duet is dark, twisted, full of action but also has a romance aspect along with plenty of steam. It is one that will suck you from the very beginning and hold your attention until the very end.

If you’re looking for a dark, historical, viking romance check this one out.
