REVIEW: The Initiation by Nikki Sloane

45029271

No one knows how new members are selected to the board of Hale Banking and Holding. But there are rumors of a sordid rite of initiation.

Whispers how one woman and nine men disappear into a boardroom.

This time, that woman will be me.

The Hale family owns everything—the eighth largest bank in the world, everyone in our town, even the mortgage on my parents’ mansion. And now Royce Hale wants to own me.

He is charming. Seductive. Ruthless. But above all, he’s the prince of lies. My body may tighten with white-hot desire under his penetrating gaze, but I refuse to enjoy it.

I’ll make a deal with the devil to save my family and sell myself to the Hales. But Royce will never own my heart.

Royce’s kiss wasn’t a three-hundred-dollar bottle of champagne you could sip, it was a shot of the cheapest whiskey you could get your hands on and had to take as quickly as possible.

MY REVIEW

Nikki Sloane KILLED with this book! I was completely HOOKED from the very beginning. From the moment I read the blurb I knew I would love this story and it blew my mind.

This book has seduction, lies, secrets, lust, manipulation and so much more. A Hale and a Northcott were always meant to be set up together, specially Royce Hale and Emily Northcott. However, Royce is fascinated with the younger Northcott sister, Marist.

Marist is a bookworm, she much rather hide away and spend time with her books. Her sister was the center of attention and she was okay with living her life that way. But she can’t deny that Royce Hale is an attractive man, but she also knows that he thinks of her as a nobody, or at least that is what he has made her believe.

I loved everything about this story. The plot is addicting, there is so much depth and mystery to every single character in this story. The connection between Royce and Marist was off the charts, you can feel the electricity between the two of them.

The steaminess of the book was off the charts, like kindle melting good, but I’ve read Nikki’s books in the past and knew it would be. Though there was so much more to this story than that and I CANNOT wait to see what happens next, especially after that cliffhanger.

This is one of TOP BOOKS OF 2019. A MUST READ.
