Cruel Beginnings is absolutely addicting and captivating. This story sucked me in, it held me hostage, and I didn’t want the first book in this world to end.
Darius and Birdie’s relationship is unique, complex, complicated and brutal. Yet, Darius has a protect and possessive side that Birdie is bringing out of him. They have a connection and they have chemistry, but it really didn’t start showing until the end of this book so I can’t see how things continue when it comes to these two.
This book will push limits and test boundaries. There are plenty of antiheros that you can fall in love with and right now I am loving every single one of them. Birdie is a BA, strong heroine who has gone through so much in her short life, but I have a feeling she will come out even stronger in the end.
If you’re looking for a dark, enemies to lovers, antiheros, suspenseful romance this is one to check out.
