REVIEW : The Publicist by Cara Wade

Quinn Harrison
I’m the biggest bitch in the industry, and I’m proud of my title. I work my size twelve curves and don’t take crap from anyone.

Imagine my luck when I’m selected out of hundreds of publicity professionals to work with bad boy Caleb Evanstan. He’s one of Hollywood’s hottest celebrities and is totally off limits.

I have a hard rule about mixing business with pleasure… but one taste couldn’t hurt, right?

Caleb Evanstan
I’m every girl’s fantasy and I know it.

I’m in a bad spot with the movie studio, and they want me to clean up my act. Imagine my surprise when the studio sends over the one girl who makes me want to change my ways. She’s hot-headed, intelligent, and has sexy curves—everything I’ve ever wanted in a woman.

The only problem? She’s labeled herself off limits, and I want to break down her resolve.

Who says love in Hollywood is only lust?

Caleb Evanstan is every girl’s wet dream, with the body of a god and the voice of an angel.

MY REVIEW

Caleb is Hollywood’s resident bad boy. After a breakup he turned to partying and a string of one-night stands with a bunch of woman who he never contacts again. He is also a major Hollywood star and about to start filming a new movie, so his studio wants him to clean up his act. Enter Quinn Harrison. Will she be the one to help the bad boy clean up his act?

Caleb, Caleb, Caleb. I had so many different emotions about this man. I wasn’t a fan of him in the beginning, he was a major jerk. Not just to Quinn but to everyone in his life. Of course, he does begin to redeem himself and you learn that the person everyone in Hollywood see’s isn’t the real Caleb Evanstan. Caleb does have a little slip up and I started not to like him again. By the end of the book I was completely in love with Caleb though.

Quinn. This woman. She instantly become one of my favorite heroines EVER! I love her feistiness. I love that she isn’t afraid to put Caleb in his place from the very first moment she met him. Not only is she completely awesome at her job, but she is just a strong woman overall. I love that she isn’t also a stereotypical heroine in romance books (blonde, skinny, size 2). She is relatable.

I will admit that I read book 2, The Playboy, first and I really wanted to know about Caleb and Quinn. This book was fantastic and each book can be read as a standalone, but their timelines to overlap so it was fantastic to see some scenes from different character point of views.

Cara Wade was a new to me author and has now quickly become one of my favorites! I can’t wait to read more of this series and more of her books in the future.
