REVIEW : The Cruelest Stranger by Winter Renshaw

BLURB

The first time I saw him was at a bar called Ophelia’s on a misty Thursday night. I was there to drown my sorrows after a trying day, he was there to escape the storm. After a brief yet incredibly cruel exchange, the handsome stranger bolted before I had a chance to tell him off. Incensed and two cocktails deep, I followed him out the door, determined to give the audacious Adonis a piece of my mind—and the umbrella he left behind.

Tearing after him in heels and barely able to keep up in the freezing rain, I ended my chase when I realized where he was going.

They say never to judge someone unless you know their story.

I never could have anticipated his…

And I never could have anticipated the way our paths would cross again—or that I would one day find myself falling for a man with a hollow cavity where his heart should be, a man as callous as he was beautiful, as complicated as he was mesmeric.

They say never to judge someone unless you know their story.

This one’s ours.

I’m going to know his story. One way or another. I don’t know how, but I will. And I”m sure it’ll explain everything.

REVIEW

The Cruelest Stranger completely consumed me. You never know what someone is going through, the pain, the struggles and the heartache.

He was the worlds biggest jerk. He was cruel. She was a ray of sunshine. Say the best in everything. Knew what pain and heartache felt like better than most people. Complete opposites who met on fateful evening at a bar. From that moment their lives were forever changed.

Bennett, oh how I wanted to hate this man but I felt the complete opposite for him (minus the few times I did semi hate him because was being an idiot). You know the saying don’t judge a book by its cover? That pretty much describes Bennett. There is so much more to him than what you see on the outside, what he wants people to see. Astaire knows pain, loss and heartache. She see’s the best in people. She doesn’t take no for an answer, despite when someone is judging her right back. Thinking the worst of her. She doesn’t let hat deter her from living life and being a friend.

Bennett and Astaire’s lives quickly becoming interconnected in so many unexpected ways and their undeniable chemistry continues to bubble. Despite their initial meeting and starting out as enemies, these two quickly become friends and learned to lean on each other and soon became more.

The Cruelest Stranger was an emotional story that I wasn’t expecting. It took me by surprised and consumed every inch of my soul. This story, these characters. There is so much to love about this. Love is unexpected, it will find you when you least expect it. Bennett and Astaire found each other when they needed it most, they formed the family they both always wanted.

This book is a MUST READ and one of my Top Reads of 2020.
