REVIEW : Penny For Your Thoughts by Elizabeth Lee

Penny Michaels has a gift. At least that’s what her mother has told her from the time she was a born. With sharp intuition and the ability to see people for who they really are, she is her fortune telling mother’s daughter. It’s a gift she didn’t want until she completely turned her back on it.

Forced to return to the sleepy town of Fate’s Landing after ignoring the signs of disaster that always seemed to flash around her marriage, she makes a vow to stop ignoring her abilities. Even if that means never falling in love again.

A.J. Murphy has a lot going for him–great job, gorgeous girlfriend, and a very promising payout if he can convince the people of this nowhere town to get on board with building a resort in their backyard. Everything is going according to plan until he steps foot into the new age shop with the neon psychic sign in the window.

She wants to save him from the heartache she wished she’d avoided. He wants to get in and get out of town and back his regularly scheduled life. What neither of them sees coming is a chance at love that was written in the stars.

From here on out, I’d embrace what I could do and I’d never have my heart broken again. From that moment on, I would trust my gift.

MY REVIEW

Elizabeth Lee is a new to me author and I was instantly hooked on this story. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series!

Penny Michaels has discovered her husband was cheating on her, so what does she do? Get a divorce and move back to her small town to live with her mother and her son. AJ Murphy is stuck in Fate’s Landing working on a resort and gulf course development. He brings his girlfriend and plans to propose, however, after a visit with Penny and two palm readings later things change…..

After her divorce Penny has a lot of insecurities she has to work through, including coming to terms with her gift. She isn’t looking for a new relationship, she really doesn’t want to put herself into a position to have her heartbroken, again. AJ had his heartbroken, but quickly realizes that it was probably one of the best things to happen to him. He is instantly drawn to Penny, despite originally blaming her for everything that was going wrong in his life.

This story was sweet and hot. I loved the somewhat magical twist to it. I loved the secondary characters, as well. Penny’s mom is hilarious and it is so easy to fall in love with her and her quirkiness. Penny’s son is absolutely adorable. Penny’s best friend, Emma was hilarious and AJ’s brother, Cooper was fantastic. I can’t wait to see more of them in the future.

This is a great story about finding your forever love when you least expect it and one that I would HIGHLY recommend.
