REVIEW : Paradox by C.A. Harms

blurb

Pretending had always been so easy for Shane…until Janelle moved in next door.

Janelle was excited to be starting a brand new chapter in her life. But her eagerness quickly plummeted when her new neighbor stormed over with his arrogance and attitude. And now, just the sight of him made her blood boil.

Just as she thought she knew exactly what kind of man Shane Anderson was, he blindsided her and left her speechless.

Turns out, she didn’t know him at all…

She quickly realized that the man he pretended to be was nothing more than a Paradox

Shane is a mystery. Everything about him is a paradox, a contradiction of who I first thought he was and who he has portrayed himself to be.

my review

This book was such a beautiful emotional story. With most stories I feel the emotions from the heroine, but in the case of Paradox it came from the hero.

Shane had a great life, he was happy, living the dream but in the blink of an eye it changed forever. He had a new life. He worked multiple jobs, was constantly stressed and every little thing irritated him. He just wanted to make sure his mother was well taken care of. Janelle is starting a new life for herself in her own place. She had a job, her sisters, her niece and her dog. She was happy. Until she met her angry neighbor.

Shane and Janelle did not start off on the right foot, a few times. However, despite the attitude there was still chemistry between them. There was attraction. They both tried to deny it, but you can only do that for so long. The more Janelle got to know Shane the more she was confused. She didn’t know a lot of his past or history, but once she does things really started to shift for them. He was a man of many layers, you just have to take the time to peel them all back and find the heart of gold that his hidden beneath.

I loved this book. It was beautiful and emotional. It is hard not to fall for Shane and want nothing but the best for him. I can’t wait for more of the Pearson sisters because they are hilarious.
