REVIEW : Asking For a Friend by Lauren Blakely

blurb

I was only trying to help a friend. I swear. I was legit asking for a friend who was finally ready to date again.

I knew what she wanted in a man — smart, funny, ambitious, well-read (no, the sports section doesn’t count), and plays a wicked game of badminton.

So I did what any good friend would do. Posted it for her. It seemed like a good idea at the time — I’d weed through the candidates, and bring her my top picks.

But then he responded.

Is it wrong to date the guy I screened for my bestie? Not asking for a friend.

Who knew surrogate dating for a friend would be so fun? If I’d known, I would have started this projected sooner.

my review

I LOVED this story. I read it all in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down.

Amy is a junior editor. She is amazing at her job, at promoting the good in others. So when one of her best friends is ready to get back into the dating scene, she creates a profile. Only fate has a different idea. Linc is new to the city, he works with Amy. There is a connection between these two from the very start. However, Linc doesn’t do workplace romances.

The chemistry between Amy and Linc is amazing from the start. Their banter is fantastic and will have you swooning and laughing all at the same time. Amy is quirky, smart, hilarious and the woman loves cake. Sign me up to be her best friend! Linc is dreamy. He is smart, hilarious and well read. How can you not love a man like that.

Asking For a Friend is the first book in an all new series and after meeting some of the secondary characters in this story I can’t wait for more of this crew. There is also some cross over from previous stories from Lauren Blakely, which is always amazing to see some characters from the past pop in.

This book is a MUST READ. It was a super fun read that will have you fanning yourself, laughing out loud and swooning from the very start.
