REVIEW ➼ The Best Man by Winter Renshaw

BLURB ➼

I didn’t know her name, but I heard her laugh, tasted her lips, felt her warm skin as I held her in my arms. Together we watched our young children playing in the sand, the warm ocean lapping the shore behind them as the setting sun painted the sky. She was my soulmate and this was our life, our beautiful forever …

Then I woke up—alone in a hospital room, connected to wires and machines.

There was no wife. No kids. Not a single soul waiting for me. That life I dreamt of … never existed.

I’d been in a devastating wreck, a nurse told me when she rushed in. Comatose for weeks. I’d have a long road to recovery, but I was going to make it.

From that moment on, the dream haunted me. I saw that woman’s face every time I closed my eyes, searched for her in every crowd, ached to be with a stranger I felt I’d known my entire life … and I swore that if I ever found her, I’d do anything to make her mine.

Anything.

Then I found her.

And it was both the best and worst day of my life because the woman of my dreams … was about to marry my best friend.

No one ever said life was going to be fair. But no one ever said it was going to be fifty shades of fucked up.

ARC REVIEW ➼

The Best Man was completely unexpected. I went into this book completely blind and it was the best kind of surprise. This story captured my soul and I completely fell in love with it.

Brie is the girl of Cainan’s dreams, literally. One fateful night forever changed both of their lives.

Cainan was in a horrible car accident and when he wakes up weeks later asking for his wife and children everyone is confused. He doesn’t have a wife. However, there is a woman and a family he saw vividly in his dreams. She feels real, he knows things about the woman, but he doesn’t know where she is. Brie came across a terrible accident, she stayed with the man until helped arrived, she waited at the hospital as long as she could. She wanted to make sure he was okay. So, what happens when you’re dream girl is on the arm of your best friend?

I loved Brie! She doesn’t settle, she knows what she wants and despite it being the unpopular opinion amongst her family, she is going to do what truly makes her the happiest. Cainan is quiet, keeps to himself, but you can feel his struggle between his connection with Brie and his loyalty to his best friend. The chemistry and connection between Brie and Cainan was beautiful. They had such a deep connection with one another.

I DEVOURED this story. I got completely sucked in and wrapped up in everything. I truly didn’t want this book to end, but I couldn’t put it down. The Best Man is a story about fate, a deep connection and seeing the signs that will point you in the right direction.

The Best Man is a MUST READ, one of my TOP READS of 2020 and hands down my favorite book from Winter Renshaw.
