REVIEW ➞ Puck Shy by Teagan Hunter

BLURB ➞

I’m having the definition of a bad year.

Game Six loss costing my team the Cup? Check.
Getting arrested and ruining my image? Check.
Almost getting run over after my car breaks down? Oh, look—a hat trick.

My contract is up with the Carolina Comets this year, and I need to get it together if I want to stay with the team.

I need relaxation, not a relationship.

But when I’m scrolling on a dating app and stumble across the pretty girl who almost ran me over, I know I can’t let her walk away this time.

Harper is funny, smart, and doesn’t care about hockey.

I’m not supposed to be focusing on anything other than my career, yet I can’t get Harper off my mind.

I know I shouldn’t fall for her…but I think I already have.

PUCK SHY is a standalone hockey romantic comedy. It’s good, low angst fun with some hot hockey players.

It’s like he’s peeking into my soul. Like he sees me in all my awkward glory and actually likes it. Likes me. It…it feels so good to be wanted like that.

Collin is having some rather bad luck when it comes to his career and his life. Things don’t get better when his car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and he is almost hit by a random stranger. Harper may have almost hit a man, so why not offer him a ride to help out. The two of them really never expected to see each other again.

I loved Harper. She was adorable and quirky and her love of Horror and passion for making creepy dolls was unique. I loved that Collin wasn’t the stereotypical jock. He was sweet and just down to earth. He didn’t flaunt his status as a professional hockey player.

I loved the connection they formed. The hilarious messages that were exchanged. The awkwardness at times that was endearing. The progression of their relationship was fun, it was enjoyable and while there was some emotion, it wasn’t overly heavy and still had a lighthearted feel.

If you’re looking for a hockey, rom com this is one to check out!
