REVIEW ➞ On the Edge by Aleatha Romig

BLURB

From New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes a standalone new-adult, romantic thriller where love is new, and monsters lurk in expensive suits behind million-dollar smiles.

Woodland Cliffs Country Club is the crown jewel of the small Monterey-area seaside town. It’s comfortable stomping grounds for those born to money and opportunity. With esteemed members from near and far, it’s not unusual to spot celebrities, business tycoons, or those with even more power.

It isn’t the glamour or intrigue that attracts Rae Watson to seek a summer job at the Cliffs. As a struggling college student, she simply wants to earn money for her senior year at the university and concentrate on classes.
When Rae’s friend helps secure her summer employment at the Cliffs, Rae willingly accepts. She quickly learns that there’s more to the Cliffs, particularly the hidden world of those the country club employs.

The world of the elite and those who serve them are not to cross. What will that mean for Rae and the handsome blue-eyed college student who makes her swoon?

Will she discover the secrets purged from the high cliffs, waiting to be found on the rocky shores, or will she find herself on the edge?

Have you been Aleatha’d?

*ON THE EDGE, a small town, friends to lovers, romantic thriller is and has been available in Kindle Vella since July of 2021.

*Fans of Downton Abbey, are raving about this modern-day version, in ON THE EDGE.

the edge was the precipice where a person must make a decision—step back or go over. It wasn’t that every cliff was like the ones on the seaside near Woodland. The way she described it, the edge was meant to be breached.

ARC REVIEW

I’m still trying to wrap my head around this story. From the beginning, it was full of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat until the final page.

The Cliffs is a mysterious place and strange events are happening surrounding the country club…but who is behind it all? The story is told from several different POV’s but each of them give a different perspective and add something different to the story and to the mystery.

Rae is the newest server at The Cliffs thanks to her friend, Beth, getting her a job for the summer. She quickly finds out that there is a lot more to this place and the wealthy who spend their time there have a lot of secrets. While the mystery of the Cliffs and the former waitress being found dead on the beach come to light, Rae is also navigating a new relationship with Frankie, whose family also has very close ties to the club.

The story itself is fast paced and by the time I got to end I wanted more. I didn’t want this to end. I feel like The Cliffs and the wealthy are who spend time their still have more secrets to tell and I hope that there is more in this world in the future.

If you’re looking for a romantic thriller, suspense story this is one to check out.
