REVIEW ➞ Madame President by Tara Sue Me

BLURB ➞

This is Washington DC and there’s only one she here.

A smart, standalone contemporary romance from New York Times & USA Today bestselling author Tara Sue Me

For Independent Anna Fitzpatrick, being President of the United States means she’s finally in a place to make a difference. Known for her intellect and charm, she never appears anything other than calm. After getting dumped by the man she’d been living with once he learned of her presidential bid, Anna vows to remain single throughout her term. It’s an easy task, after all, no man has ever made her feel the way her law school classmate did years ago. Or at least the way he made her feel until he walked away without so much as a goodbye.

Navin Hazar is content being one of the nation’s top news anchors. It may not be the plan he had for his life, but plans don’t always go as anticipated. Like his plan for no one to find out he knows Anna personally or did know her, once upon a time.

For fifteen years, they’ve been able to ignore each other, but her election to the highest office changes everything. And when Navin inadvertently lands on Anna’s Press Pool, they realize the only thing more aggravating than politics is love.

You will never be just a person. And I hate to break it to you, but you weren’t able to pull off the just a person routine even before you became President.

Political romances are typically not really my thing, however, I LOVE Tara Sue Me’s books and with the gorgeous cover of this book I decided to give it a chance and I am SO glad I did.

Anna has just been elected as President. Navin is a new member of her Press Pool. Eighteen years ago they were in law school together, they had on magical night together and two days later Navin left without a word. After a long period without a word, they are now working closely together. The connection they had hasn’t left and sparks quickly start to fly between them.

The chemistry between Anna and Navin is great. There is tons of tension between them throughout and I loved the slow burn between them. I love Anna. She is strong, she is a 36 year old, single woman and now she is President. She wants to do a great job for the country she loves so much. Navin had dreams of being a judge, however, a family emergency changed his life course. I had mixed feelings about him at first, but as the story continued I did start to love him.

Madame President is a pretty quick read and definitely something to check out if you enjoy political romances. There was a slight issue with the timeline and it was definitely different from previous books I’ve read by Tara Sue Me, but still an enjoyable story.
