REVIEW ➞ Locked Up Liars by Elle Thorpe

BLURB ➞

Nothing prepares you for finding your sister’s lifeless body covered in blood.

But when the police arrest her ex, a man I know is innocent, I can’t sit by and do nothing.

Not when I’ve been secretly in love with him for years.

Heath may not want my help, but I won’t take no for an answer.

To catch a killer, I’m forced to take a job at Saint View Prison. Maximum security. The place they send the worst of the worst.

But it’s not just Heath who doesn’t want me there.

Rowe, the sinfully sexy head guard has made it clear I don’t belong. I’d tell him where to go with my middle finger up, if my skin didn’t prickle with awareness every time he touches me.

And then there’s Liam, hotshot lawyer and my old high school enemy. All that tension and chemistry is still there, burning between us like flames. I need his help, but I’ll be damned if I beg for it.

With every lie we uncover, every secret we expose, the danger mounts.

Until there’s only one thing we know for sure.

The killer is still out there.

And I’m his next target.

Locked Up Liars is an adult, #whychoose romance, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This book contains enemies-to-lovers and romantic suspense / dark themes that may trigger some readers. It is the first book in an ongoing trilogy.

I don’t care how ruggedly handsome someone is. If they’re into the stabby stabby, then it’s a deal breaker.

ARC REVIEW ➞

I AM OBSESSED. Locked Up Liars is captivating, addicting, full of suspense, mystery and steam.

Mae runs into her sisters ex and her secret crush, Heath,  at a bar and takes the chance with him. However, the next morning she wakes up to her sisters lifeless body, no memory what happened and Heath being charged with her murder. She knows deep down he didn’t do it and she is determined to help get him out of prison. The best way? Get a job teaching at the maximum security prison, which is where she meets Rowe, a security guard who is still somewhat mysterious, and she gets the best lawyer she can find, her high school enemy Liam.

There is a lot of build up throughout the beginning of this story and getting to know some more information on all these characters but things really starting picking up towards the end with the mystery and of course, with the relationships. Mae has amazing chemistry with all of the men and I can’t wait to see how that grows over time.

This is the first book in a trilogy so beware of the cliffhanger…my jaw was seriously on the floor! I am dying to know what is going to happen next and who killed Mae’s sister.

If you’re looking for a dark, reverse harem, romantic suspense story this is one to check out!
