BLURB ➞

SAMSON
She’s always been off-limits. Forbidden. Way too young for the likes of me.

And yet, she still managed to carve out a space for herself in my heart.

But when push came to shove, I made the only choice I could, and I did it even knowing it would break her heart.

I’m back now, and ready to make her mine. Only, she’s not the sweet girl I left behind. She’s wild, reckless, and sexy-as-hell…a challenge I’m all too eager to meet.

STELLA
He was only ever meant to be a crush. After all, what girl isn’t into her older brother’s best friend?

But somehow, our innocent flirting quickly gave way to so much more. He swore he felt the same way about me… he promised we’d tell my brother together the day I turned eighteen.

Except the night before my birthday, he did the unthinkable, and now I’m not sure I know how to forgive him.

All I know is, I refuse to be anyone’s dirty little secret.

“Just kiss me. Kiss me like there isn’t an ocean of hurt between us. Kiss me like I’m the only thing that matters.”

ARC REVIEW ➞

From the moment Stella saw Samson she had a crush on him. Over the years that crush continued to grow stronger and eventually Samson’s feelings toward Stella began to change. After some time the two of them couldn’t deny their connection, but due to the six year age difference and Samson being best friends with Stella’s brother their relationship was only in secret. What was supposed to be the best and happiest day of Stella’s life quickly became the worst day and she was left heartbroken.

I loved the connection that Stella and Samson had. Even at a young age Samson included Stella. He wanted to be around her. She was his light. Even after the pain and heartbreak there was still a connection, they were both still drawn to each other. There was still so much love between them. Despite all that, I loved that Stella just didn’t run right back into Samson’s arms. She made him work for it and I love that Samson did everything he could to try and make up for the mistake he made.

For everything that happened, I felt like this story was low in angst and I found myself wishing for a little more of that. There were plenty of sweet moments and plenty of steamy moments between Samson and Stella throughout the story which I did enjoy.

If you’re looking for a brothers best friend, forbidden, friends to lovers, second chance romance this is one to check out.
