REVIEW ➞ Conflict of Interest by AJ Alexander

BLURB ➞

The last thing I expected as a ten-year wedding anniversary present was divorce papers.
I never planned on my life turning out this way, but who does?
Now back in Toronto with my tail tucked between my legs, ready to start my new adventure.
There’s only one problem: my new boss is Clayton Matthews, the one that got away.
Gone is the shy boy who sat next to me in math class, replaced by a man who commands everyone’s attention when he enters a room.
Including mine.

I haven’t laid eyes on Pearl Beauregard since high school graduation.
I planned to make her mine that night and finally letting her know how I felt, but fate had other ideas.
Now, ten years later, Pearl comes knocking on my office door claiming to be my new assistant, giving me a second chance to make her mine.
I don’t care that this may be a conflict of interest, but I won’t waste this opportunity.
Pearl will be mine, and there isn’t a damn thing anyone can do or say about it.

Grab your pearls, ladies! This forbidden office romance will leave you breathless and desperate for more. Prepare to fall in love with this possessive CEO who will stop at nothing to get his girl.

Even after all these years, the pull to be near Pearl is just as strong. She’s owned my heart for the last fifteen years.

Clay has loved Pearl since he was a teen, but missed is chance in high school. Now that he has a second chance to make her his, will he be able to or will it be another missed opportunity?

After ten years of marriage Pearl is getting divorced, she moved back in with her parents and now has a job working with someone form her past, Clay. Clay is not necessarily thrilled when he finds out Pearl is coming to work for his company and thinks that there may be something more about it, he definitely had no issue calling her out on it the moment she first stepped into his office.

This is a steamy little office romance. Clay and Pearl have loads of chemistry from the start and I couldn’t get enough of them. I love that Clay never gave up on Pearl, even though he knew he may never get the chance he missed out on. I love their relationship; I love Clay and I love Pearl. When she stood up for herself, I was cheering her on.

If you’re looking for a steamy, second chance office romance this is one to read.
