REVIEW ➞ Big Man’s Claim by Penny Wylder

BLURB ➞

I’m not a guy who looks for love–I sure as hell don’t deserve it.
Especially not from a gorgeous red-head who I found nearly-naked in a river.
Melody is tough as nails and freshly eighteen. A rugged, tattooed mountain man like me knows better than to get mixed up with someone as pure as her.
But the second we’re alone, her lips close to mine, I can’t fight my desire.
She’s too innocent for me. I tell myself one night is enough for us both.
It’s stupid to let my heart beat a million beats for a woman who will turn into a memory.
But now that I’ve had a taste, I can’t let her go.
I’m claiming her as mine… for better or worse.

I came here to escape, and maybe this is exactly what I need right now. A chance encounter. A moment between two strangers that exists outside of my everyday world.

ARC REVIEW ➞

Melody needs an escape and hikes to a spot in a meadow to spend some time, however, after an unfortunate fall into the river those plans change, but she is rescued by a man who happens to be the town loner.

I loved Melody and Branson. He truly rescued her out in the middle of nowhere and there was an instant connection between them. Soaking wet and freezing, the end up setting up camp in the meadow Melody was heading to, however, due to falling in the river Melody lost her gear which leads to some close contact between Melody and Branson and plenty of heat to warm them up.

Melody and Branson are ten years apart and Branson is part of the town rumor mill. After coming back from the first meeting in the meadow they continue to meet in secret. They were both drawn to each other and couldn’t stay away, even though people didn’t agree to their relationship. I loved the forbidden aspect and the age gap aspect of their relationship.  I love the chemistry these two had and that there was a little of drama in their relationship to shake things up.

If you’re looking for a small town, age gap, strangers to lovers romance this is one to check out.
