REVIEW ➞ A Very Bossy Christmas by Kayley Loring

BLURB ➞

What’s the actual last thing you’d ever want your executive assistant to see you doing the morning after you had hot, drunk, angry sex with her in a terrible hotel room? Dancing around your terrible hotel room to “Come and Get Your Love” like Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy—naked? Yeah. Me too.

And yet, here we are.

This isn’t even the most unprofessional thing that’s happened between us in the past couple of weeks.

The first was when I agreed to let her have Christmas Day off, but only if she goes with me to three family gatherings as my fake girlfriend.
The second was when she caught me belting out a Christmas song on stage in the awful hotel bar.
The third was the hot, drunk, angry sex that followed, but I do not regret it.

And she hasn’t even found out the real reason I need her by my side this holiday season.

I need to pull it together before I do the dumbest, most unprofessional thing of all—fall head over heels in love with the only assistant who’s lasted more than a month at the job and claims to hate me and my moods more than she hates eggnog.

And I’ve seen how much she hates eggnog.

In real life, I’d rather lick eggnog off the bottom of my boots than lick Declan Cannavale. And I hate eggnog.

ARC REVIEW ➞

If there is only one Holiday romance you read this year, it should be A Very Bossy Christmas. This book has the humor, the heat, two crazy families and Declan Cannavale.

Declan is a lawyer for a real estate firm, he comes from an Irish-Italian family (you can only begin to guess what family get togethers are like) and he works hard. He may have gotten himself in trouble the moment he mentioned to his mother that he was dating someone. Maddie is an executive assistant to Declan and pretty much keeps his life on track. She just wants to spend the holidays with her family, but getting her workaholic boss to give her the time off is going to be tricky. When Declan offer’s her what she wants how can she refuse? It’s all just pretend.

Declan and Maddie had chemistry from the beginning. There was an attraction between them from the start. I loved the banter between them, the fact that Maddie gives back as good as she gets. The woman is full of sass and I LOVED it. There is also plenty of playful flirting and several super sweet moments. Though, at times Declan was frustrating and I just kind of wanted to knock some sense into him.

I loved Maddie’s niece Piper, plus the couple chapters from her POV were HILARIOUS. Declan’s family was absolutely hilarious and crazy. Maddie’s family was just as fun. If I could be adopted by both of their families I would in a heartbeat.

A Very Bossy Christmas is the perfect Holiday romcom that will have you laughing and swoony from the very first page. A MUST READ!
