REVIEW ➞ A Protector for Phoebe by D.E. Haggerty

BLURB ➞

She’s got a secret.

My entire life is a secret. No, scratch that. I have a secret. My life isn’t a secret. I have a new life with new friends. I even have a job for the first time ever. As a PI no less. And I don’t suck at it. Take that old life.

So does he.

When I run into Ryker – literally – my new life is looking better yet. Ryker makes my body feel things I’ve never felt before. Things I like a lot. Except, I’m not the only one with a secret. No, Ryker has a whopper of a secret.

Does Ryker actually care for me or is it all a big fat lie?

No idea but like my boss always says Love will OUT.

I’m not literally a man-eater. I subsist on a diet of vegetables and rice for gosh sake. Men are not on my list of approved foods.

I have been DYING for Phoebe’s story since the moment she was introduced in Hailey’s story and this did not disappoint.

Phoebe is a bit of mystery. She randomly shows up for a job at Hailey’s PI agency, there isn’t anything in her past beyond a year, and she doesn’t really talk about her life. Though, she is becoming a pretty good PI. Ryker, I loved the man. He is a bounty hunter who just so happens to be working a job and continually runs into Phoebe. There is chemistry between them, but Phoebe isn’t really looking for starting anything with anyone.

I couldn’t get enough of the banter between Phoebe and Ryker. There was some pretty hilarious interactions between them, but also some hilarious interactions between Suzie and Ryker, and of course the Uncles and Ryker.

A Protector of Phoebe has romance, some more serious scenes and of course, plenty of laughs and my favorite group of Uncles and Pop. If you’re looking for a rom com that has tons of strong women, who are kick ass PI’s this one to check out!
