REVIEW ➞ The Setup by Meghan Quinn

BLURB ➞

I’ve fallen victim to a heinous act.

An act so vile, so downright dirty, that I’m not sure as a twenty-year-old man I’ll ever recover. Brace yourself, because what I’m about to tell you might have you gasping in secondhand horror.
Ready? Here it goes . . .

I’ve recently become the pawn of a meddling mom.

Yes . . . A MEDDLING MOM–who’s been trying to set me up all summer.

Now, I understand it’s not a crime for a mother to want her child to fall in love, but when she makes it her relentless MISSION, the heinous act should be classified as a misdemeanor at least.

Of course, my mom, the evil matriarch in the devil’s leggings, made her final stab at finding a girl for me days before I went back to college.

And I hate to admit it, but she saved a doozy for last.

A titan in black skinny jeans.

A boss of nonchalance.

And a girl who would not only turn my life upside down, but do it while juggling a soccer ball, looking effortlessly gorgeous around campus, and is one hundred percent against relationships. Of any sort.

Thanks, Mom.

“I’ve heard rumors about what happens in there. Take a girl into the locker room and they’re yours forever.”

It’s time to return to Brentwood and I am living for Lincoln and Indie!

Lincoln is a pitcher for Brentwood and has his eyes set on the draft. His moms have their eyes set on finding Lincoln someone to love. Indie plays soccer for Brentwood. Despite going to the same school and both being student athletes they had never crossed paths until their moms meddled and left them at an arcade.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lincoln and Indie’s friendship. There was some amazing banter, some sweet moments and Lincoln will have you swooning. These two are truly the best of friends. Even, with time apart and miles separating them they still found a way. Their relationship was a SLOW SLOW SLOW burn. There was times both Lincoln and Indie frustrated me, because you can feel their connection, feel their chemistry and you just want them to admit there is something more to them than just being best friends.

I wasn’t expecting this story to hit me with all sorts of feelings, but it did and I loved it. There were times towards the end I was in tears. You can feel the pain, the hurt, the loss and the love throughout every single moment of this story.

The Setup is full of laughs and emotions. You’ll quickly fall in love with Indie and Lincoln and never want this story to end. A MUST READ!
